Our Skin 18 Review – Are Their Masks Worth It?

Skin 18, an Asian brand that is making quite a buzz in the skincare business specially with their fabulous marketing campaigns. What makes this brand special is their belief that it is never too late to look after your skin cause covering it with makeup is one thing but actually having a naturally radiant skin is another. Therefore the brand focuses on bringing to the table skin care that is made from the choicest of ingredients that are believed to be good for the skin. Here is a review of three of the masks that I have tried and loved from the massive range they sent. Here is what I think:

Mirum Fresh Fruit Honey Real Nature Mask: This can be a go-to mask for people with dry skin. With the season changing, my skin has become extremely dry from being super oily through the year. Since the key ingredient in this mask is honey, it is great for moisturising dry, dehydrated skin. Just after one use, my skin felt supple and nourished as if it had been moisturised from within.

Four Season Aloe Soothing Waterfall Oasis Mask: This mask is suitable for all skin types. It is essentially a mask that contains the essence of Aloe, abundantly known for its soothing property. I used this mask post an intensive session of threading, my skin was super irritated that time, but to my surprise the irritation vanished in about 5 minutes of using this mask!

Four Season Red Ginseng White Clean Active Mask: This mask contains extracts from Red Ginseng as the name suggests. Red Ginseng is widely known for its antioxidant and anti ageing properties. I did not notice any difference to my skin immediately after using it, except for the fact that the mask softens the skin in a single use. But like most skin care masks, I suggest at least a few good uses before looking for visible results such as anti ageing or wrinkle reduction.

The product: The masks are drenched in the essence they come with. They are dripping wet, which I like, for the essence does not dry out in the suggested 15 minutes of application time. The essence is not oily or sticky whatsoever, infact in comparison to some high end masks I have tried, these masks from Skin 18 smell pleasant and soothing.

Price and availability: Mirum Fresh Fruit Honey Real Nature Mask: $63.47, Four Season Aloe Soothing Waterfall Oasis: $56.97, Four Season Red Ginseng White Clean Active Mask: $56.97. All these masks are available online on the Skin18 website. For shipping rates, please check visit their ‘shipping information’ page here.

My Verdict: Skin 18 stocks an amazing range of skin care products that you can choose from. The prices for masks available are unbeatable. But the other awesome part is their marketing campaign. You can order any sample you would like to try, for free, paying only postage as applicable. These campaigns run from time to time and I suggest you take advantage of the same. I am very happy with the masks I have tried so far. I have problematic acne prone skin but none of these masks have irritated my skin at all. I am now looking forward to trying out more products from Skin 18.
